Yesterday the supporters of discriminatory health care gathered in downtown Seattle to stage a protest. Bussed in with union money and carrying mass produced signs, the pro-socialized medicine crowd milled lamely about in Westlake Park bleating unenthusiastically. They had an emcee, a stage, and a sound system.
We had the truth. Overflowing the too-small area cordoned off on the sidewalk across from the park, we joined together and raised our voices in defense of freedom. In contrast to the sea of sameness at the pro-single payer rally, the crowd on the right side of the street was full of rugged individualists with homemade signs.
There is more information and an Action Alert to spread the word at Liberty Belle’s (event organizer) blog.

Thanks for supporting this important event (and for the photos!). I think it is important that we showed people in King County that this isn’t the obvious answer, maybe once they see people so against it, they will start to think about why we might be so against it.
Thanks for the pics!
I was at that Healthcare Freedom Protest and when we were chanting things like “Health Care Yes, Socialism No”, we got blank stares from people across the street. It was like they had know clue what Socialism is, and why were we chanting that at them. To me, it looked like a bunch of people who only watched CBS news. Ignorance is bliss, but in this case, it will be deadly.
